Self Portrait Fun

So I soon came to realize that I needed a picture of myself. A face to represent Rachel Ann Photography. Not something I was excited about. I have always preferred being behind the camera and I feel as if I am being vain to want a picture of myself for people to see. But I know how important it is, so I started setting up shop in my living room.

Let's just be clear, I DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE WATCHING ME. Which is ironic considering I'm also a ballroom dance instructor who is constantly in the spotlight...(still makes my heart beat faster). And my husband Mike was painting our dining room chairs and watching football at the same time. I gave strict instructions that he was not to look at me while I made myself feel like a fool laughing into the self-timed camera. There was still the occasional, "I said don't watch me!" Followed by his retorts that he wasn't.

After the millionth time of hitting the self timer, Mike offered to just push the button over and over (still not looking but watching the game) so I didn't have to keep hitting it and run over to my spot to wait to for the shot.

The shots that followed went from trying to be all cute, to silly, to okay I'm done, c'mon STOP, seriously?..., oh whatever, SIGH...

To end here's one of the very first shots I took when in the bedroom before I gave up on the lack of space. The swiffer was my focal point that was supposed to me before running over and standing in that spot. For some reason I decided against ditching it... So here I am...holding my swiffer...
